RESUSCITATION TRAINING FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

We pride ourselves in the quality of our training. At RESUSCITATION MATTERS we believe that the end result for health professionals should be confidence and competence in the medical or trauma resuscitation arena, whether it is at the beach, the supermarket, the roadside, clinic or hospital. Our training, is skills and competence based, follows NZRC guidelines, and is NZRC certified.
We also believe strongly that teaching of nurses and doctors should be done by nurses and doctors. Our instructors are an Anaesthetist, a GP, and Nurses. We work as a team and can talk your language. Please check our PROFILE for more information.
For Health Professionals
We run courses for groups (GP rooms, private hospitals, Dentists etc.) and we also run a series of "Public" courses throughout the year which individuals are welcome to attend.
NZRC CORE Levels 4 to 7 (8 hours)
Resuscitation for health professionals from graduate nurse to hospital doctor. The course is hands on, skill and scenario based, and practical. There are no whiteboards, powerpoint or didactic lectures. Knowledge is assumed from the manual supplied six weeks prior to the course. Training incorporates use of advanced life support equipment, and is taught, hands on, by means of skill stations. Assessment of the skills and written knowledge are rewarded by the appropriate level of NZRC CORE Certification.
The course also includes an essential pre course session about three weeks prior to the course. This 2 hour Pre-course gives a vital insight into the course structure and requirements, and gives a sense of direction to reading and study.
Skills include:-
Adult Collapse
Child and infant Collapse
Defibrillator and AED training (use actual charged machines)
Airway skills (Bag mask ventilation, Oropharyngeal airway, Laryngeal mask airway, endotrachaeal intubation)
Principles of trauma management (Management of impaired consciousness, Airway with cervical spine stabilisation, Breathing with ventilation support, Circulation with control of bleeding, fracture management ).
Scenario training (for leadership and teamwork)
NZRC Level 4 Modular CORE Certification
These are individual teaching sessions at Level 4 with individual certification for each skill. Each module involves about 2 hours of training. They can be done on different days.
